Wow Check out this Crochet Stitch!

You have to check out this "fun" crochet idea!!
Who would of thought? I mean I love to eat and I love to crochet, but this???? I really liked this link to the Wunderkammer animal in crochet...how cute is he?
This site has some cute crochet items and a great tutorial too on "How to Crochet."

Here is the wrist bag I designed and just entered in the LA County Fair this year along with 3 of my Barbie Doll dress outfits and 1 other Evening bag.I hope to place but just the fun of being involved in the fair is enough for me. It is always so neat to see everyone's crafts and all the booths with the new gadgets. Last year it was way too warm but this year I will be there so if you see me wandering through the craft booths with the white hat on, stop and chat with me!
Now check out these fruits... Oh sooo cute ...I am definitly going to knit this up soon. And the Apple is so cute...the pattern is free everyone who wants a gander....Peachcakeknits has all the patterns for anyone who is interested!

My June Fridgies

Ok these are the fridgies I just finished for my multi partners for the swap in my Crochetfridgiesornaments group. I had so much fun making these. They are quick and I love to design. The bees were actually a pattern for a plant stake but I changed the stitch a little and added magnets to the backs and Voila! a bee magnet. Then I decided to make a smaller one. the dress and purse I added embellishments and made the stitches different to make the little dress and bag set of magnets. I also made a flag and stars and firework swirls, The flag has star buttons for the stars and they are totally my own design. Lots of fun!!!!

So Foxy [thats her to the right of me] is always looking for them in the flowerbeds. Then I also crochet under the patio cover and listen to my chimes and teh birds along with the pond. And when I am inside here is where I spend all my time in my office on my computer. :)

Felted Bag Contest2 #1

Contest 2 #1 : How did you get interested in felting? Did you learn it from someone, see a bag you liked? Just want to try something new? If you have a picture of your first project, please include it! Answer: Well I started to see them in the yarn shop and I was really intriged by them and then my Secret Pal sent me one for Christmas last year and that was it. I had to learn, so I got a pattern for an easy one and made it. But I couldn't get it to felt too good so I asked some of the ladies in my crochet group and got the tips and got it right. Now I love them and want to make more so that is why I joined this swap to get more practice and make more felted bags.

SP10 #5 Contest

Contest:
When I crochet or knit I am usually out in the yard sitting on the patio by the pond. I love to hear the birds and listen to the pond water while I stitch away. The birds come and visit the feeders and churp their songs and if I am still enough they actually come in quite close. However, we have a lurking hawk that eventually will swoop down and fly under and through the patio with his 6' wing span that reaches and brushes by my ears looking for food.

This one day he did it and caught me completely off guard and scared the holy heck out of me and I actually jumped and screamed so high and loud that my project went flying. My hooks and yarn flew up into the roof of the patio and even scared the heck out of my little dog, Foxy, who was sleeping besides me. The hawk never knew I was there, so I probably scared the heck out of it, too. I wish I would have had a video of it as I am sure I looked pretty silly jumping like I did and then having my yarn fly up and get stuck to the wood underneath the patio cover. I mean it was hanging like a spider web... all unraveling....Silly me...

Anyways... I have learned to now make a little movement when I am out there to make sure that old hawk knows that I am sitting there... and i have my CD player on humming tunes of Enya or Conan with their soothing Celtic sounds and I grab my glass of ice tea, [as I live in So. CA and it is usually warm out] I have my flip flops on; I sit down in my lounge chair with my feet up on the foot stool; and I enjoy the water and birds again in a little peaceful setting on my patio where it is very private with the slight ocean breeze blowing the 50' high Oleander bushes and 100' high pepper tree. All I need is a good pattern and some great skeins of yarn and I am set for an afternoon of pure tranquility of just me and my stitching addiction!
