Hello Bloggers Fall is in the Air.......

Hello Fellow Bloggers......
I have been working on my "Pouf" our SnC club project for some time now.  We start in February and have till the 1st meeting in November.   I started it and then laid it down till last month wihen I started to work on it a few evenings I used Bernat Blanket in two different colors.   I'm excited to show my SnC crafting group  and I finally finished it just in time.  Its due November 9th meeting.  Well I actually have time.  :)  We all do one and its interesting to see how different they all turn out.  Then we vote for our favorite and that gal gets a Craft Store gift card.....  yippy!

Now I have to write up the pattern for it.

Top View

I coordinated the colors to match my living room chair, floor and oak tables and rug and my contrasting Sea Foam wall. Perfect!

I think it looks great what do you think?

I am pleased with how it turned out

I used a Faux Leather blue for the bottom of my "Pouf"
It really worked well as a bottom so it won't get dirty.

the sides really pop with the brown and teal

This is before I finished stuffing it and sewing on the bottom
I will write up the pattern soon....

I also finished a cute shoulder Cowl scarf
its really lightweight and I used a really pretty shell buckle in blue pearl to match with a satin ribbon.  I like how it flows and very stretchy, too ..

Our Red Hat gals Social Butterflies had a "Crazy Wig" party.  I love pink and got this wig for a prize ...  I think i look good in PINK!

I made this SnC Logo with a clip art I bought
so do not copy this one ladies as it is copyrighted to me...

Fitting for us I believe for when we hit the road
shopping for yarn... :)

that's all for now....

Hello Bloggers...

Wow its been a long time since I posted.   I think since FaceBook came out everyone goes over there to post including me ... :(

But I decided to post today a little of my "Snuggles" and "Lap-Snuggles" I have been making for my crafting group's charity..

I love them and even gave a tutorial class to the my craft club on how to make them.

What is a "Snuggle"  well its a blankie for dogs and cats in the shelter's or foster homes waiting to be adopted.   It gives them their own little "Snuggle" with their smell on it so that when they are adopted and leave their foster home it will help them with the stress of the unknown.   They take these "Snuggles" with them.

I made several crocheted, knit, and fabric.  Now I am making a combination fabric/fleece and crochet edging with a batting filling for more comfort.

Here are a few I have made:

This one is all crochet with Hobby Lobby "I Love Cotton" yarn

Hard to see these from my class but these are a few more I have done

This one is what I call a "Lap-Snuggle" it is for the patients at our Nursing home we donate to.  Its one yard of cotton and one yard of fleece with a 5dc fan crochet boarder stitching around the edges.
I love how soft it feels.  Its perfect for the wheel chair bounded patient's as it won't drag on the floor but will still keep them warm.

A kitty "Snuggle" this one has a curled edging

This is laid out to do my newest "Lap-Snuggle"  the granny squares were donated to us
by a crochet lady I know.  I think it will turn out pretty

Well that's all for today...

Till next time

Happy Stitching and Crafting.....

Crocheting in March for National Crafting Month? Why do I Love it so Much?

Crocheting and why I Love it????
I had to think about this one a bit. I mean I know I love to crochet, but to explain why????

Hmmmm I guess mostly I like to feel the yarn and then to create something pretty with it. I see a pattern that I absolutely have to have and then I start shopping for yarn to make to make it with. Now the shopping part is the best.
Who doesn't love to go to yarn shops and touch and feel all those beautiful yarns. And what about all the new colors and series of yarns that are coming out for the spring? Have any of you been to your local yarn shops yet? Oh my, there are a lot of new yarns out... I love love Bernat yarn.. It just feels good when I crochet. I also like the new Simply Soft Light yarn 3-ply that is out. The colors are brilliant and it is twisted so not as difficult to crochet with as the 4ply can be.

What about crocheting with t-shirt yarn? That is fun too...The end result is a really sturdy project.

But I love to crochet because it allows me to relax while I watch my favorite TV show.  I feel like I am accomplishing more and therefore can justify my TV watching.... LOL....

Crochet gets my mind off any of my days stress and lets me float into my pattern. Chloee my little dog loves when I crochet so she can curl up on my lap, her favorite place to be. :)

So I guess the thing is its my favorite hobby to do...crochet crochet crochet is
a wonderful hobby it will always make you new friends. Go anywhere and sit down and within an hour I can guarantee that someone come up to you to ask you what you're making or ohh and ahhh over the yarn. Most people are fascinated with the art and love to see someone doing it.. a great way to pass the craft onto another too....

You will have a long conversation with many when you crochet in publics. And since this is National crafting Month go for it and enjoy meeting others who love the craft as much as we do.... After all its spring time and even if its cold where you are, go sit in a mall or a restaurant and it will work the same way.

Happy Crocheting......

Make Some Home Made Chicken Soup and Crochet

Homemade Chicken Soup Recipe
[source]
With all the colds and lazy times curling up in front of the fireplace, its best to curl up with not only your hooks but also some HOMEMADE CHICKEN SOUP. watch how to make one of my favorite recipes from

Original recipe makes 10 servings

  1. Put the chicken, carrots, celery and onion in a large soup pot and cover with cold water. Heat and simmer, uncovered, until the chicken meat falls off of the bones (skim off foam every so often).
  2. Take everything out of the pot. Strain the broth. Pick the meat off of the bones and chop the carrots, celery and onion. Season the broth with salt, pepper and chicken bouillon to taste, if desired. Return the chicken, carrots, celery and onion to the pot, stir together, and serve.
Now what should we make after we eat our soup????  I LOVE this afghan with sleeves.....so this is my next project and its FREE tooo....

Now to decide what color???? Hmmmm
