I Got my Spring Felted Swap Package!!!

I got my Spring Felted Bag package!!!! Yea!!! My SP really spoiled me and made me the bag of my dreams...the Booga Bag...I love it!!!! Tiffany did a wonderful job and it is perfect in color...and size...And to boot she sent me over 12 skeins of Wool Pride because she said it was her whole stash as she is allergic to it! Sorry to hear that but thank you thank you as I am not and love to work with it!!! I will put it to great use and show my bags as I complete them...

This is the perfect bag !!! Thanks Tiffany again!!!

Knit One Tea Two Questionnaire

Here is my Knit One, Tea Two Questionnaire:

1.Do you like loose tea or bags, or both – something you want to try? I like bag tea especially English tea
2.What is your favorite kind of tea (Brand, flavor, variety, etc)? Green and regular decaf Lipton
3.Favorite color in regards to tea or one you would like to try? (black, green, red, and white) White and red (keeping in mind that this is how this swap is set up).
4. Would you say you were a tea pot kind of person or just a hot water heater kind? I am a teapot person by heart but for quickness I will heat
5. What tea accessories would you like but have never purchases for yourself? a tea strainer and a cozy for my teapot and always another teapot
6.How do you prefer to be pampered? (examples: mani/pedi, bubble bath, yummy treat, etc).yummy treats, sachet, coconut and cherry flavors, hand creams
7. If you were a kind of yarn what would you be and why? Cotton because it is stretchy but not too much and soft and doesn't lose its shape when wet.
8. If you had to knit/crochet baby booties, a fun fur scarf, or a fair isle sweater, which would you choose and why? fun fur scarf or sweater
9. What other event would make you skip a tea party? (A garden party? A book club meeting? A yoga class? Opening night for a new action thriller? etc?) a book club meeting or a thriller, I love to read thrillers

11.When buying yarn for a project how do you choose - do you buy the one called for or do you substitute? both, but I try to get as close to what is called for as possible
12. What do you carry your knitting/crocheting in when on the go? hooks, scissors, magnifier, reading glasses, tissue, mirror, yarn and WIP and a book and pattern, always the cell phone and a treat
13. Favorite movie to watch while knitting/crocheting? The LifeTime channel or Sci Fi
14. Are you a traditional tea cup kind of person or a mug type of person? Do you care if they match? I like china tea cups and no they do not match, but around the house I also use a mug
15. Favorite childhood birthday party? my 10th when my Mom had a surprise tea party for me with my girlfriends
16. Favorite type of scone and jam? cinnamom and strawberry jam
17. If you use candles, what is your favorite scent? apple cinnamon and coconut
18. If you could choose 3 people to have 'tea' with, who would they be and why? (famous or not, living or dead). My friend Priscilla, because I think she and I would have tons to say, my friend Lori, because we have done so before and she really liked it, and Debbie Macomber because I would really like to meet her.
19. You've been invited to a tea party, what 'props' will you wear (formal or casual)? One of my Red Hats that is frilly, a Boa, white gloves, pretty fancy glasses, and a long skirt and frilly top with heels
20. Any allergies/preferences you have or are willing to admit to? I do not like smoke

Ok I saw this on Designing Vashti's blog and loved the idea so I adapting one of my own...

Here are my list of Crochet-tivities for now:

1. 1.Go and get your votes in at Berroco's Poll and be counted! [I did]
2. 2.CIP [crochet in public] I went to the beach today and did my thing on the bench overlooking the water..ahh that is always so much fun as I like the people watching too.
3. Remember National Crochet Month next year..set up an alert on the "puter" so I don't forget about!!!
4. Read about the 30 Ways to Promote Crochet ! [love that there are more crocheters in the USA than knitters, sorry knitters but Crocheter's RULE!!!]
5. Buy something extravagent from Stitch Diva's Studio's.
6. Learn a new crocheting technique.
7. Check out a new yarn shop and buy some yarn that I have never tried before.
8. Pay a designer for a crochet pattern instead of downloading a freebie
9. Buy the new Simply Crochet magazine this month.
10. Go to Crafster.com and but something that I absolutly do not need...??? like more yarn?
11. Try to make this apron. ok it's not crochet, but this one is...
12. Buy more yarn [Dee lists special celebration sales]
13. Finish reading the new HP book and crochet a HP item while reading it
14. Finish a WIP (work-in-progress) or possibly even a PIG (a stalled project-in-grocery-bag) I like those terms...but I think I should finish my knitted 1970s bag that I have been working on for ..hmm too long now and it is a KPM [knitting project madness]
15. Listen to a new crochet podcast I like this idea
16. Join a crochet-along (CAL)
17. Go to a crochet convention. [doing that in Sept going ot the CGOA with Priscilla] Yea!!!!
18. Lose weight while crocheting
19. Learn to knit those "Loopy Socks" on the cirular needles making 2 at a time [help]
20. Get that cubical for upstairs and move my yarn!!

I won I won Fibernatics Contest

Guess what??? I won!!!! Yeah....I wrote the answer to this question on "Fibernatics": "No offense meant to the writers of these patterns, but why would anyone want to make these?" my answer:

"Ok I guess I would because I have a cat that is about 17 now and she sometimes has accidents around the house and I think this would be a good Christmas gift for her....LOL...I know kind of weird but maybe if I stuck it in her litter box on Christmas she might get the hint????" I get 2 skeins of yarn can't wait to see them... What fun Thank you!!!

Unhappy Clouds of Pollution

Now living in CA "pollution" is a major subject! This little masterpiece on "Bytedust" by artist Dennis Douven fits my little area....however in all fairness the pollution in So. CA has diminished greatly since the 1960s and also looking back as far as the 1940s we see the state taking it's first major steps to fight pollution, so I must give the EPA a big clapping hand with their efforts....And in the following decade The first auto emission standards in the nation for hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide were adopted by the California Motor Vehicle Pollution Control Board

(MVPCB) in 1966. This is what it looked like in 1965!!! Oh my.... What can We do to reduce exposure?
The American Lung Association recommends three steps to protect yourself indoors:
Use a heat recovery ventilator or an energy recovery ventilator to quietly provide the fresh filtered air you need while quietly removing stale polluted air.
Seal leaks in the building shell to block entry of unfiltered outdoor air during the heating and air conditioning seasons. NOTE: Sealing leaks also blocks entry of dust and insects.
Use space and water heating systems that cannot put combustion gasses into the building interior.

Ok enough of that I sure got off on a tangent!!! I also found some other interesting items while "surfing" my blogging friends. Here is a site all about "Steeking" and it's Chronicles: Introduction it is a fantastic intro to the hows of this technique for all you knitters. Do check this one it is really very interesting.

The World’s Biggest Stash

I was lurking around and came across this "humongous" photo of the Worlds Biggest Stash!!! Now who can top this one???? And I thought mine was large....WOW...is all I can say....I am in the midst of adding a 16 cubical in my upstairs area to put all my yarn and I thought that I had the big stash...but not even a "smiggin" in comparison to this one!!I have to take my hat off to this lady!!! You win!!!!

Here is the wrist bag I designed and just entered in the LA County Fair this year along with 3 of my Barbie Doll dress outfits and 1 other Evening bag.I hope to place but just the fun of being involved in the fair is enough for me. It is always so neat to see everyone's crafts and all the booths with the new gadgets. Last year it was way too warm but this year I will be there so if you see me wandering through the craft booths with the white hat on, stop and chat with me!

Here's What I got From My Sox Partner

What a surprise to get such a pretty packag efrom my partner in the Sox Box Swap!She made me the prettiest large tote for projects in my "fav" colors, and a smaller 1 skein plastic box for those smaller projects. I got lots of sweets, a cute flashlight key chain, a sharpie clip, a great sock pattern book, and super hand dyed yarn yummy!!!!! and "Hello Kitty" themed card and plastic bag.
